8 Months Season
Our season runs from April through October with one tournament each month. There will be a mid-season major with larger prizes and a tour championship in September. To close out the year, the top players will be invited to a Ryder cup style event held in October to close the season (see below for more information). Just the right pace to stay sharp, have fun, and chase some wins without burning out.
-
Handicap Flights
To keep competition fair, an official handicap is required for all players who compete in the net divisions. Handicaps will be reviewed throughout the season and adjusted if necessary — so everyone has a fair shot at the leaderboard.
-
Flights and Divisions
We’re planning five total flights to keep competition fair, exciting, and balanced. Players are grouped by similar handicaps, so every swing counts and every match-up is competitive.
- Gross Division: For those who want to play it pure—no handicap adjustments.
- Flight A: Handicap index 5–10
- Flight B: Handicap index 11–15
- Flight C: Handicap index 16–20
- Flight D: Handicap index 21+
Flights are based on registered players’ handicap indexes, and if a heavy concentration appears in a certain range, divisions can be adjusted—or additional flights created—to keep competition balanced.
-
Earn Points While Playing
Rack up points just by showing up! Every event you play adds to your season total — and the better you play, the more points you score. Show up, play hard, and climb the leaderboard all season long.
-
Prizes
Bring your A-game — the top finishers at each event walk away with prizes.
Open flight will play for cash (must forfeit amateur status) and the handicapped flights will play for gift cards (required to maintain amateur status).Play well, place high, and get rewarded.
-
Tour Championship
Only the top point-earners will earn an invite to our Tour Championship — where the competition heats up and the prizes get even bigger. Play all season, rack up points, and punch your ticket to the biggest event of the year.
-
Old North Invitational
It all comes down to this. The season’s most electrifying event. The ultimate battle for bragging rights.
Only 24 golfers will make it to the Ryder Cup stage.
- Top 12: The best of the best, who’ve clawed their way to the top of the season-long points race.
- Captain’s Picks: 12 wild cards hand-selected by the captains—chosen for their skill, grit, and ability to deliver under pressure.
Then, it’s Team vs. Team. 12 vs. 12.
Match play.
Every hole matters.
Every putt could decide the cup.
This isn’t just another tournament—it’s the grand finale of The Golf Tour. One day, one shot, one chance to etch your name in The Golf Tour history.
